Woolworths supermarket shopper shares new receipt fail: ‘I was charged $300 for a $6 item’

A Woolworths customer has revealed her concern after discovering that she’d been overcharged by almost $300 on a popular deli buy.

Posting on Facebook, Victorian shopper Janita said she was charged $300.65 for 272g of Dorsogna Tasty “Twiggy” Sticks instead of $6.53.

Janita shared photos of the receipt which showed the whopping overcharge, as well as the deli label showing the actual price.

A Woolworths spokesperson has confirmed that the supermarket is investigating the incident which they have described as “incredibly rare”.

7NEWS.com.au understands that Woolworths has rescanned similar barcodes on multiple occasions, and the correct price has shown each time without any errors.
