A bizarre detail on a Holden Captiva wagon has sparked an urgent police response in WA after another motorist spotted it allegedly weaving all over the road.
While driving along South Western Highway in Byford, a motorist noticed a woman allegedly driving erratically, with sparks and debris coming from the car as it drove in a southerly direction.
The concerned motorist followed the Captiva for about 5km.
A little while later, near the intersection of Kiln Road, the car ground to a halt.
The witness got out of their own car, ran over to the Captiva, seized the car keys from the driver and called police.
To their shock, when police arrived they realised one of the front wheels was completely worn down to the brake calliper – hence the sparks.
The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Harrisdale, was charged with drink driving and reckless driving after she blew 0.08.
Her car was seized and she was served with a disqualification notice.
The woman is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday.
