Victoria COVID exposure sites from DHHS include MCG, Chadstone, train line, Springvale Central

Victoria’s contact tracing team are searching for a “needle in a haystack” with the state’s first mystery case in months, and the full list of exposure sites has been updated.

A man aged in his 30s who has no current links to the Black Rock restaurant cluster contracted the virus and a number of possible acquisition sources are being investigated.

On Wednesday, the Department of Health and Human Services listed the MCG and Chadstone Shopping Centre and potential acquisition sites – meaning he could have caught COVID-19 while there.

There is now a new testing site near Gate One at the MCG and as many as 8000 people who were there between 12.30pm and 3.30pm on December 27 need to be tested.

The man could have contracted the virus at Culture Kings, Huffer, JD Sports, Jay Jays, H&M, Uniqlo, Myer, Superdry, Footlocker or Dumplings Plus in Chadstone.

On Wednesday the DHHS also removed Springvale Shopping Centre as an exposure site and corrected it to Springvale Central.
