A bridezilla has come under fire after demanding that a popular UK musician sing at her wedding for free.
Singer Jamie Mathias shared the text exchange between him and the bride-to-be, who had requested a personalised song for her upcoming nuptials.
However the conversation took an unexpected turn when the client became outraged when Mathias – who has tens of thousands of followers on Facebook – mentioned payment.
“Oh didn’t realise I’d have to pay!” she wrote.
“I’d have thought with the current stage of your career, you’d be doing this for exposure and to get your name out there!”
Refusing to back down, Mathias gave it to the bridezilla straight.
“Sadly neither my rent or bills can be paid in exposures,” he replied.
“Happy to do a song for the price above in time for your wedding.
“Let me know if I can help further.”
However the woman was unrelenting, demanding that he back down.
“That’s a bit cheeky!” she added.
“In my opinion, you’re being unrealistic with pricing and you’ll build a name for yourself much quicker by doing these for free or really cheap to get your name out there.
“Talented for sure, but can’t see people paying for something like that.
“The world doesn’t owe you a living.”
Facebook users were horrified by the woman’s texts.
“I hope the next time she asks for her pay cheque at work, her boss tells her that ‘The world doesn’t owe you a living,’ ” said one.
“10/10 for audacity,” added another.
Said a third: “Wow. Just wow. This lady is something else.”
But Mathias said he was taking it in his stride.
“Please know I don’t even take this stuff to heart anymore just think it’s fun to share with you all,” he said.
