Rebel Wilson’s latest weight loss Instagram post called out for ‘bad timing’ amid Washington riots

Millions of people around the world have been following Australian celebrity Rebel Wilson’s weight loss journey.

But her recent Instagram post, which shows her in a crop top and leggings in a gym, has been called out by some for bad timing.

The picture shows Wilson looking fierce as she stands, fists up, in front of a boxing bag.

The post has the rather vague caption, “Coming soon.”

And while the photo garnered the usual flood of positive comments, there were others who thought the post was badly timed given the chaos unfolding in the US capital.

Wilson spends a lot of time in the United States and is as famous there as she is in Australia.

‘Not right now’

“Poor timing. Not right now,” one person wrote.

“Would love if you posted something relevant to the state of the country,” another said.

“Wrong time to post this.”

‘Wrong time to post this.’

“Is this you fighting Trump supporters at the capital today?” another joked.

Others were less concerned with the Pitch Perfect star’s lack of political engagement.

“You are my idol, you’ve come a long way sweetie, and you have a strong will power,” one fan wrote.

In 2020, Rebel set a goal to reach a weight of 75 kilograms, which she did with a month to spare.

“Even though it’s not about a weight number, it’s about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75 kilograms,” she wrote after reaching her weight loss goal.

Celebrity reactions

While Wilson was not posting about the unrest unfolding in Washington, other celebrities took to social media to voice their opinions.

Singer Pink said she was “ashamed” of what had happened in the US capital, calling it “a sad day for America.”

Actor Zach Braff simply wrote, “Speechless.”

And comedian Sacha Baron Cohen called on the founders of the world’s biggest social media platforms to shut Donald Trump down.

“Hey Mark Zuckerberg, @SusanWojcicki and @sundarpichai – Donald Trump just incited a violent attack on American democracy,” he tweeted.

“Is that FINALLY enough for you to act?

“It’s time to ban Donald Trump from your platforms once and for all!”
