Prince William reportedly worried conversations with Harry will be ‘plastered’ on American TV

Prince William is reportedly “worried” private conversations with his brother will be broadcast on American TV.

British outlet The Sun, citing a source, said the Duke of Cambridge fears conversations with Prince Harry would be “plastered over American TV”.

It comes after the brothers reportedly had an “unproductive” phone call following accusations of racism levelled against the Royal Family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to their quieter lives after the world watched their interview with Oprah.

During the two-hour interview, the couple claimed a member of the Royal Family asked how dark their son’s skin would be.

Gayle King, who is Oprah’s best friend, told CBS This Morning that her understanding was that Harry and William had spoken to each other in the wake of the interview.

She described it as an “unproductive” conversation and added that “no-one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet”.

That wasn’t met well by commentator Piers Morgan, who walked off on his breakfast TV role over criticism of Markle.

“Rather than acting as your Sussex friends’ PR mouthpiece to facilitate their ongoing public trashing of our Royal Family,” he tweeted at King.

“How about doing your job as a journalist and ask them about all the lies they told in Oprah’s interview?”

William, meanwhile, spoke briefly to reporters when he broke tradition to answer questions from a reporter last week.

He said he intended to speak to his brother and added: “We’re very much not racist family.”

The Queen, meanwhile, said the Royal Family was saddened by the allegations made by Harry and Meghan.

Buckingham Palace last week issued a statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” it said.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning.

“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

The interview was watched by 12.4 million viewers in Britain and 17.1 million in the United States.

About 1.3 million Australians tuned in to watch it, several hours after it had already been broadcast online and in the US.
