A Perth woman was searching for a book and couldn’t find it – so she spent her money on an OzLotto ticket instead.
It was quite literally a life-changing decision, because that ticket was worth $5.9 million.
The woman had gone to a shopping centre in Perth’s southern suburbs to buy a book she wanted at the local newsagent.
But it was out of stock, so instead, she purchased a Tuesday night OzLotto Slikpik 18 ticket.
She ended up taking home the entire division one prize pool.
“I’ve been playing for donkey’s years and the most I have ever won is $66,” she said.

The lucky ticket was purchased from the aptly-titled Lucky Charm in Waikiki.
Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said the Tuesday night win means 74 WA division one winners this year.
The win came just days after a couple from WA’s Mid West won the Set For Life division one draw.
The couple will now receive $20,000 a month for the next 20 years – a total prize of $4.8 million.
