NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian responds to coronavirus test controversy

Gladys Berejiklian has denied she broke her own state’s health rules by failing to self-isolate while she awaited the result of a coronavirus test.

The NSW Premier has been under fire this week after it emerged that she continued to hold meetings after losing her voice and getting a swab last Tuesday.

NSW Health guidelines state you must isolate after receiving a COVID test until you receive a negative result.

But during an appearance on Sunrise, Berejiklian denied she did the wrong thing as she never had symptoms of the virus.

“I took it as a precaution, I did not have any symptoms, I did not have a sore throat, a scratchy throat or anything like that,” she said on Wednesday.
