NRL player agent Isaac Moses facing axe after losing appeal

Controversial rugby league player manager Isaac Moses is a step closer to having his registration cancelled after losing an appeal against the NRL.

One of the most powerful figures in the game, Moses faces deregistration after an appeals committee upheld findings that he breached obligations as an accredited agent back in 2017.

The NRL alleges that Moses counselled or assisted then-client Tim Mannah to ‘give evidence to the NRL that was false and intended to mislead an investigation by the NRL integrity and compliance unit’.

Mannah’s evidence related to an investigation into Parramatta’s salary cap scandal in 2016 which uncovered illegal third party deals.

As a result, the NRL then sought to cancel his registration and Moses appealed.

However, Moses was informed on Tuesday that the independent committee upheld the NRL’s findings and he faces severe repercussions.

The committee will now hear submissions from both parties to decide whether the cancellation of his registration should be confirmed or if another sanction could be imposed.

Moses’s stable of clients include some of the biggest names in the NRL across players and coaches, including Cameron Smith, Adam O’Brien, David Klemmer, Tevita Pangai Junior and Mitchell Moses.
