Nathan Buckley and wife Tania separate, Collingwood AFL coach confirms

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley and his wife Tania have separated after 18 years of marriage.

The couple of 20 years confirmed their marriage was over in joint statement on Friday afternoon.

They have two boys Jett, 14, and Ayce, 12, who they will now co-parent.

It comes after Buckley spent most the AFL season on the road and living in the league’s COVID bubble away from Melbourne.

“It has been a tough and challenging year for every family and for ours included,” the joint statement said.

“It is with the utmost love and respect for each other and a true commitment to our sons, that we have made a decision to separate in January.

“We remain dedicated parents and in the interests of our boys, we ask for our family to be given the privacy that is needed.

“We thank everyone in advance for understanding our request and for the unconditional love and support we have received throughout our marriage.”

More to come.
