When a mum in Scotland crossed a football pitch at night with her kids after doing the grocery shopping, she wasn’t exactly expecting an encounter with the devil.
But that’s what it must have seemed like after she took some photos of her kids on the frosty pitch after dark.
She was in Aberdeen on Tuesday night, walking home with the children, and decided to take a few night shots.
To her horror, something showed up in the photos that she certainly hadn’t seen at the time of taking them.
The mum, who didn’t want to be named, said the creepy scrawling – 666, “the number of the beast” – had left her “freaked out.”
In the Book of Revelations, 666 is the number associated with the devil and the impending apocalypse.
It’s also a heavy song by Iron Maiden, with the lyrics: “Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast.”
And in the horror film The Omen,
A friend of the woman posted the pictures to Facebook with the caption, “This is some f***ing freaky s***!:
“My friend took this photo the other night,” the friend wrote.
“I’m not superstitious, but I can’t be the only one seeing the numbers ‘666’.”
Speaking to The Daily Record, the friend said the mum only noticed the symbol when she was looking back at the photos several hours later.
“She was freaked out, as it’s her kids in the photo.”
