Australian singer, songwriter and actor Johnny Ruffo has revealed his brain cancer has returned.
The 32-year-old former Home and Away actor and The X Factor contestant on Tuesday shared the devastating news.
“After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned,” he wrote.
“Though I will dig deep and beat this s**t disease again.”
He shared the update alongside a photo of he and his girlfriend Tahnee Sims, adding “f**k cancer”.
Ruffo announced in August 2017 he had undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour.
It was discovered when he was hospitalised for a migraine.
During an interview in May 2019, he announced he was cancer-free.
Earlier this year, he spoke about the support network that got him through it.
“It’s about the support group around you, and not being afraid to ask for help,” Ruffo said on The Morning Show at the time.
“It’s not just related to my experience with cancer. Everyone goes through something that’s tough, that they might feel is too hard to handle on their own.
“And when you do go through these things, there’s always someone to help you.”
