A fugitive feared armed with a gun appears to have suggested Queensland police efforts to find him will end in a “shootout”.
Gold Coast man Mark Lutgenau, 37, is on the run after he fled an alleged domestic violence incident on Tuesday night.
The search for Lutgenau sparked an emergency declaration of the Ormeau area on the northern Gold Coast, forcing a local primary school into lockdown.
Lutgenau was not able to be found during the three-hour emergency declaration.
A post on his Facebook profile after the search appeared to taunt police, suggesting they searched for him in bushland while he was “in the pub drinking” Jack Daniels whiskey and playing poker machines.
“This won’t end well and they (police) have been told that,” the post reads.
The post also makes reference to a “shootout with police”.
It is also being reported a number of Gold Coast police stations have been locked down following the post.
Police released photos of Lutgenau on Tuesday in a bid to find him.
Officers have been seeking him since being called to an address in Upper Coomera on Monday night following an alleged domestic violence incident.
Lutgenau had fled by the time officers arrived.
No one was physically harmed at the home.
