Coronavirus public health alert issued for Sunshine Coast, Brisbane venues

A number of Sunshine Coast venues have been added to the list of locations visited by a confirmed COVID case.

A public health alert has been issued for a Woolworths, a bottleshop and an Italian restaurant in Maleny.

The confirmed case visited the Maleny Woolworths, Purple Palate Cellars and Cappriccios Italian Pizza Restaurant, for takeaway only.

“Following further contact tracing work today, Queensland Health has expanded its list of venues where a confirmed COVID-19 case has visited,” Queensland Health said.

“Contact tracing is currently underway with the PHU contacting those determined to be close contacts directly.

“While the risk to Queenslanders is considered low, anyone who has been in these venues at these dates and times should monitor their health and if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms, even mild, get tested and isolate until they receive their test results.”

The alert is for anyone who visited the Cappriccios Italian Pizza Restaurant between 6.30pm and 7pm on January 6.

The case ordered takeaway only and waited outside.

It’s also been issued for anyone who visited Purple Palate Cellars between 4.15pm and 4.25pm as well as Woolworths between 4.30pm and 4.50pm, both on January 7.

“For anyone with concerns or is unsure if they need to get tested or isolate, please call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84),” Queensland Health said.
