A similar scheme is underway in NSW.
As part of its plan to stimulate the economy after the impact of the COVID pandemic, the NSW government launched the Dine and Discover scheme, which sees every adult in the state will receive a $100 voucher to encourage people to support the hospitality, entertainment and tourism industries.
The 60,000 people living in Sydney’s CBD with the postcode 2000 will be the first to receive their $100 vouchers.
This is the first stage of the scheme before it is expected that it expands into the entire state in January.
The Dine and Discover scheme – which was originally announced as the Out and About scheme – will split the $100 incentive into four $25 vouchers that will be able to be used at COVID-Safe businesses.
The ‘dining out’ vouchers will be restricted for use at venues that serve food, while the ‘going out’ vouchers will encourage people to visit venues such as galleries, amusement parks, cinemas and theatres, museums, go-karting, mini-golf, and more.
Every NSW resident aged 18 and over will be eligible for the vouchers.
The vouchers cannot be used for alcohol, tobacco or gambling.

How do I apply for the $100 NSW voucher?
To apply for the voucher scheme, residents must have a Service NSW account.
Customers can access the vouchers when they’re ‘Out and About’ from the Service NSW app.
Each $25 voucher can only be used once and the vouchers cannot be combined to increase value.
I’m from interstate but I live in NSW – can I apply?
Yes. If you’re living in NSW, and can provide a local address, you will be eligible for the voucher.
However, you must have a My Service NSW account.
I don’t have the Service NSW App – how can I get the vouchers?
For those without smartphones, the vouchers will also be available at Service NSW Centres.
Treasurer Dominic Perrottet said the $500 million program will boost businesses.
