Bulls send Vics in under grey Gabba skies

Queensland will look to exploit the bowler-friendly conditions on offer after sending Victoria in to bat under grey skies at Allan Border Field in their Sheffield Shield clash.

Michael Neser returns to the four-day arena for Queensland after starring in their one-day victory last week in his comeback from a hamstring injury.

And he should prove a handful for top-order Test aspirants Marcus Harris, Nic Maddinson and Peter Handscomb with the new ball in overcast conditions, which improved slightly to allow play to commence only 10 minutes later than scheduled.

The Bulls are equal on points with leaders NSW thanks to three wins and a draw from their five games this season, while Victoria have drawn four and won once to sit fourth with two rounds remaining.

Queensland quick Xavier Bartlett has made way for Neser while Jonathan Merlo is Victoria’s 12th man.
