Federal Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has been taken to hospital after a car accident in Sydney’s Inner West.
The 57-year-old was involved in what appears to be a two-car crash on Hill Street in Marrickville on Friday afternoon.
A spokesperson for Albanese told 7NEWS.com.au he was “heavily shaken” but “okay”.
He was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for precautionary X-rays.
Albanese was alone in the car.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson declined to comment on Albanese’s condition for privacy reasons.
The other driver involved in the crash is also believed to be uninjured.
Witnesses said Albanese’s car appeared to be “t-boned” at the intersection with Glen Street.
It was described by the spokesperson as a “serious accident”.
Photos of the scene show Albanese appearing to point to his left shoulder while talking with paramedics.
